Welcome to Obiwuotu Mbaise, Boston

Celebrating Heritage. Building Community. Inspiring Generations.

Obiwuotu Mbaise, Boston, is a nonprofit community organization proudly representing the Mbaise and Igbo people living in the Greater Boston area and across the United States. We exist to promote unity, preserve our cherished cultural identity, and foster mutual support among members of our community—while also contributing positively to the broader society around us.

Our name, Obiwuotu, translates as “the heart of the gathering”—a fitting symbol of who we are and what we stand for. We are the heart that connects Mbaise sons and daughters abroad to their shared heritage, and the gathering that keeps the spirit of home alive even far from Nigeria.

At Obiwuotu Mbaise, Boston, we bring together individuals and families who share a common bond in culture, language, and tradition. Through our cultural festivals, educational initiatives, youth mentorship programs, and charitable works, we strive to reflect the best of our Igbo values—faith, unity, respect for elders, love for community, and excellence in all things.

A Home Away from Home

For many who have left Nigeria to settle in the United States, life abroad can be full of both opportunity and challenge. At Obiwuotu Mbaise, Boston, we provide the warmth of home—a place where every member is valued, where one’s language and traditions are celebrated, and where the power of collective strength creates hope and belonging.

Here, our elders share wisdom; our youths discover purpose; our families find friendship; and our entire community stands as one family united by common faith and culture.

Whether you are newly arrived in Boston, a long-time resident, or simply a friend of the Igbo community, you will find in Obiwuotu Mbaise a welcoming family and a vibrant cultural experience.
